Anemos is bringing California ease to the West Village on Wednesday with the opening of its first-ever New York City pop-up shop.
“Lauren [Arapage, cofounder] and I go way back to our New York days — when she was in press at Stella McCartney and I was buying at Moda Operandi — so there’s always been this through-line of New York energy in how we think about the brand, even though Anemos is very much rooted in the ease of L.A.,” Anemos cofounder Joshua Shaub told WWD.
He noted that the brand’s momentum and growth led the cofounders to come back to New York City for their first retail pop-up.
“We’re up 140 percent year-over-year, which is something we honestly didn’t let ourselves predict out loud. To see the collection resonate at this scale has been incredibly validating, both for the brand and for what we believe sustainable, minimalist fashion can be,” he said. Shaub said the shop’s location was designed to be “more of a homecoming,” and less like a business decision, as their New York City customer makes up 20 percent of Anemos’ web sales.

Located at 325 West 11th Street, the 700-square-foot retail space will be open seven days a week for one month, and will possibly extend through July.
Arapage told WWD that the duo have a few activations planned for the space, include an opening cocktail party and a shopping event with Work(ing) Hard World, to name two.
“We want it to be a gathering point for people who care about the same things we do: beautiful design, intentional living, and doing it in an effortless way,” she said of the space, which was designed to reflect the brand’s minimalist codes and coastal ease.
“The in-store experience is really an extension of the brand’s ethos: clean, considered and tactile. When you walk in, we want you to feel the fabrics, understand the craftsmanship, and connect with the story behind each piece,” Shaud added. “Everything is made in Los Angeles, all of our fabrics are sustainably made; those are the things we’re proud to talk about face to face with a customer in a way that’s hard to convey through a screen.”
The retail concept will offer customers Anemos’ full assortment of seasonal styles, including signature knitwear, ready-to-wear, resort staples and swimwear, alongside exclusive in-store services of same-day delivery throughout the city and in-store exchanges. Highlights of their summer 2026 collection include new chic stretch cotton crochet and a red rock print, Arapage said, as well as striped swimwear that will land in store mid-June alongside new weekly additions. The duo added that the pop-up serves as the first location their entire offering will be available to shop in person.
“We’ve been really focused on pieces that move between the beach and life — that California sensibility of going from the water to lunch without changing your entire look. We think it will be perfect timing for New Yorkers preparing for their summer travels ahead,” Arapage said.
