Rihanna Endorses Nike x Jacquemus Moon Shoe for Sneaker of Summer 2026

Low-profile sneakers continue to be in high demand.

Rihanna is no stranger to setting trends, and the singer might have just helped cement a Nike shoe as the sneaker of the summer. Going along with the low-profile shoe trend, she stepped out in New York City on Sunday wearing a low-key sporty look paired with Nike x Jacquemus Moon Shoes SP.

The “We Found Love” singer wore the Moon Shoe in the Soft Pearl and Sail colorway, which
originally retailed for $180. The shoes are part of Simon Porte Jacquemus‘ fourth footwear collaboration with Nike. The shoe was inspired by the company’s running history and DNA, and for the first time, Bill Bowerman’s hand-built Moon Shoe from 1972 has been reinterpreted with modern details.

The original Nike shoe went through an elevated update with ruched nylon and full-grain leather, blending its track-racer origins with a modern, ballet aesthetic, which is a popular theme overtaking the footwear and sneaker industry as of late. The result is a slim torpedo shoe that blends Jacquemus modern design and Nike’s sports heritage. The key is in the shoe’s subtle details, designed with Jacquemus branding that can be found on the tongue, heel and sockliner. The shoes also include a Nike Grind rubber outsole for traction. They were also made in a brown and cashmere colorway.

The Fenty Beauty founder wore the sneakers with no socks or with no-show socks, which is contrary to the higher and taller socks look that has been a popular styling choice as of late. She paired the Moon Shoe with a gray, crewneck sweatshirt with black biker shorts, and a Miu Miu Drill baseball cap, which retails for $650. In an effort to make the outfit appear even more put together, she completed the look with a Dior Crunchy Bag in the medium size, which she wore in the maroon shade.

Rihanna is often seen in her go-to high heels, and rarely strays away from her favorite designers like Amina Muaddi, Gianvito Rossi and Alaïa. When it comes to sneakers and flats, she has stuck to her own Puma designs, Miu Miu sneakers, as well as Phoebe Philo flats.

The Nike x Jacquemus Moon Shoes are befitting of the ongoing trends in the footwear space that took off last year. After chunky shoes and bulky dad sneakers took over for some years, shoe designers like Prada, Fendi and Dior have veered away from that into more slim-fit, low-profile footwear, especially sneakers that bring the feet closer to the ground, while delivering a more slimmed-down, minimalist look.
