Most of the silhouettes in Anne Barge’s vast collection veered toward the classics — mermaid, princess, column and bias-cut gowns — with crystal beading, stripes and sheer-illusion backs for decorative effect. But there were also elements of surprise in a minidress with a long detachable overskirt, which offered a new take on cutaway hems, and a unique strapless style that riffed on men’s suiting, with charmeuse lapels, jeweled buttons, a belt and deep pockets.
