Geox Unveils Ventilated Cushioning Technology in ‘Climasandal’ Line

President Mario Moretti Polegato presented the project during a conference in Milan.

TECH INNOVATION: Geox, the Italian footwear brand, continues to invest in innovation.

On Thursday, Geox president Mario Moretti Polegato presented a new technology called “ventilated cushioning system,” whereby the natural movement of the foot while walking and a component inserted into the sole activate ventilation in the shoe. The technology was introduced in the new “Climasandal” line for spring 2026.

The sole is composed of three different parts: in the rear part, corresponding to the heel, a cushion has been integrated that compresses under the weight of the foot and activates an airflow. Inside, the air is pushed toward the forefoot through specific ventilation channels that allow air to escape through holes, giving a sensation of continued freshness. The new sole is ultra-light and comfortable, weighing 40 percent less than a common sandal sole.

“This process has been patented and Geox has extended the patent worldwide. For the company, this will be a revolutionary and unique product, further confirmation of Geox’s ability to create and manage scientific research,” said Moretti Polegato.

Styles are available for both men and women. The men’s model features a double strap in suede or leather with a metal buckle, and the color palette includes chocolate, hazelnut and licorice. For women, there’s a variant with a mesh fabric in colors ranging from antique pink to violet, ice white, and sugar paper. The sole is made of EVA material and features a chrome buckle.

The second variant has a crossed strap in suede, nubuck leather with a metal buckle, and is available in beige and black. Prices range from 89 euros to 119 euros. New “Climasandal” designs will be presented for spring 2027.
