When news of a “Tianjin 2.0” Nike Air Foamposite One release first surfaced in March, it was unclear if the refreshed style would follow the same Asia-exclusive availability of the original Tianjin release from 2015. Now, following its China launch earlier this month, we’re learning that the rare style will be coming to the States in early June.
The Nike Air Foamposite One Tianjin 2.0 is a faithful reference of the ’15 original, maintaining a near-identical graphic upper which is covered in traditional Chinese art and cultural images such as lotus flowers and koi fish.

The black portions of the original release are replaced with white for a lightened-up look, and the translucent outsole swaps the black pair’s red for a glow-in-the-dark jade green shade. Other unique details which have been carried over from the original Tianjin colorway include floral embroidery at both the tongue and heel. The updated style’s full colorway is White/Light Poison Green/Black/Lava Glow/Tour Yellow.
“Tianjin is known as the Foamposite capital of China and we’ve seen momentum in this space even before the Galaxy’s return last year. It was time to speak to both OGs and new kids by introducing this new story. The white base was something that was explored when the first black one was made but the factory couldn’t get it proper so they never followed up with other colors,” Nike said in its latest Snkrs Verified preview.
Other recent Foamposite release updates of note include new mummy-themed colorways, one of which is expected to be a public release of the Oregon Ducks’ Mummy Duck exclusives.
The Nike Air Foamposite One Tianjin 2.0 will be released June 4 in the U.S. from Nike’s Snkrs app. The style code for the upcoming pair is IR2078-100 and its expected retail price is $250.
