Dress shoe-derived detailing has gained a steady presence in sneakers over the past year-plus, including sneaker loafers galore, tux-eligible patent leather Nike Air Force 1s and even Air Jordan 1 Low with an actual shirt collar and tie. Joining the mix soon will be another take on the AJ1 Low borrowing from a style derived in Scotland and Ireland.
The Air Jordan 1 Low Brogue sees the classic low-top adopt perforated patterns, serrated edges and a tassel. Appearing with an all-cream leather upper, holes are punched into the toe tip, vamp and heel counter in quintessential brogue arrangements. Serrated edges define the Swoosh, while a suede tassel comes with a gold-tone band to match its metal wings logo on the heel. Jumpman embroidery on the tongue also arrives in gold, while the tassels’ deeper cream hue aligns with the midsole and rope laces. Rounding out the monochromatic treatment is a gum outsole.
