Sneex Breaks Into the Sandal Market With a New Hybrid Shoe Design

The Charlie Hy-Heel Sandal offers the boost of a stiletto in addition to the responsiveness of a sneaker.

Sneex is keeping customers on their toes with a new footwear invention bringing the brand into a new category: a hybrid high heel sandal offering the uplifted elegance of a stiletto in addition to the responsiveness of a performance sneaker.

The Charlie Hy-Heel Sandal from Sneex — named after founder Sara Blakely’s son — is outfitted with the trademarked Innerplay technology. This tech helps to rethink the typical high heel sandal with layers of Supercritical Foam and a responsive support system intended to alleviate pressure on the ball of the foot, absorb impact and lessen foot and leg fatigue. While the sandal offers stability and cushioning, concessions didn’t have to be made on the silhouette, which is a fully adjustable triple-strap design allowing for a tailored, customizable fit.

“This sandal is the shoe version of telling your inner 8-year-old, ‘Go play!'” Blakely said in a statement. “It speaks to the part of you that still believes anything is possible. Women loved the feeling of Sneex and kept asking for an open-toe version they could wear all summer long. But strappy heels are tricky…every wobble, pressure point and uncomfortable strap is exposed. I wanted to deliver the comfort of a performance sneaker to the high heel sandal. When you put them on, you just might want to jump, play hopscotch, dance in the street or take the long way home.”

The Charlie, marking Sneex’s first sandal style, is the latest entry building out the brand’s Hy-Heel category. Earlier in the spring, the footwear label tapped into the hybrid ballerina market with a style featuring a more open concept upper than usual which was embellished with three dainty straps. Sneex’s original styles known as The Icon, The Blake and The Tepper look more like traditional sneakers with a stiletto heel. Since launching in 2024, Sneex nabbed the 2024 FNAA Launch of the Year award and has been embraced by celebrities like Gayle King.
