Nicole Scherzinger brought Christian Louboutin’s Kate boot into her new pop performance era on Wednesday night, wearing the label’s black Kate Max Booty Mesh ankle boots to The Abbey’s 35th anniversary party in Los Angeles. The singer attended the West Hollywood event amid the Pussycat Dolls’ current reunion cycle, and her shoes kept the look close to the group’s stagewear roots.
The Kate Max Booty Mesh style is built on Louboutin’s 100mm stiletto, with a slim, perforated cotton shaft that gave the ankle-height silhouette a mesh appearance. While her particular iteration is only available on resale platforms, Louboutin currently offers the So Kate booty in black leather with 85mm and 100mm heels.
Scherzinger has something of a penchant for Louboutins, as she made clear last summer while promoting her Tony-winning turn as Norma Desmond in “Sunset Blvd.” She wore several Louboutin signatures on the talk show circuit: patent Sandaloo platforms on “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” Nude Collection Hot Chick heels on “The View” and high-shine So Kate pumps on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

The rest of the look stayed firmly in that Pussycat Dolls-coded lane. Scherzinger wore a cropped Pussycat Dolls T-shirt covered in rhinestones, cut high enough to sit over a silver rhinestone bra-style top and a black patent corset-style piece with a front zip, along with skin-tight black leggings with a leather-like finish. The mix of rhinestones, mesh, patent shine and second-skin black brought the look back to the club-stage styling that helped define the group’s mid-2000s style.
Scherzinger reunited this year with Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt for new Pussycat Dolls music, with “Club Song.” The three members released their comeback single on March 12, the group’s first new song in six years.
