Eileen Fisher’s Renew Program Reaches Key Milestone

Fashion apparel brand Eileen Fisher said its Renew take-back program has reached a milestone of 3 million returned garments. The brand also said the program is migrating to the brand’s e-commerce site.

“What started as a way to extend the lifecycle of clothing has inspired innovative ways of rethinking waste, maximizing material use and designing for a more sustainable future in fashion,” the company said in a statement.

The Renew program was launched in 2009 and is considered one of the pioneers in brand-led reselling. The company said the launch “set a new standard for circularity and [paved] the way for broader industry adoption.”

Eileen Fisher said the program has evolved over time, to include various initiatives such as the Mended Collections, which features one-of-a-kind apparel pieces that tout visible mending. The Indigo Overdye Collections was another notable program that was created in partnership with the natural dye experts at Botanical Colors.

“A continued demonstration of Renew’s growth, later this summer, Renew will be formally integrated into eileenfisher.com, creating a more seamless shopping experience that brings new and renewed pieces together in one destination,” the company said.

In 2025, the Renew take-back program collected 319,377 pieces. Of that, 91,763 garments were given a second life through resale to Renew customers, while 113,537 pieces were donated to nonprofits. More than 34,900 wool garments were recycled through fiber-to-fiber partner ReVerSo in Italy (where they were spun into new yarns).
