On the heels of her “Small Rooms, Big Nerves” concert series, Hilary Duff arrived at the 2026 American Music Awards wearing a metallic Rabanne gown.
The delicate, chainmail garment featured a sweetheart neckline, a short slit and an ankle-length skirt that exposed Duff’s matching open-toe stilettos.
The dress may have cut through the fashion noise on Monday night’s carpet, but this was far from its first run. Ella Purnell wore the same Rabanne gown to the 2024 Emmys, teaming it with bouffant curls, a burgundy lip and a similar pair of silver heels. Unlike Duff, Purnell turned to boast the back of the dress, revealing its wide-strapped racerback and camouflaged trail of buttons for the cameras on the carpet.

Duff may not have given the full 360 view, but she certainly bared it all in a minimal, no-makeup makeup look. Most likely brought to life by Elsey Deenihan Fisher, the glam consisted of sandy shadow, wispy lash extensions and rose-taupe gloss. The pool of brown and bronze hues on her lids filtered down under her bare waterline, accentuating the soft coral flush of her cheeks. Meanwhile, her muddy blond hair — styled in a bouncy blowout — brought out the matte-brown shade of her brows.
Recently, Duff has teamed with hairstylist Barb Thompson, whose A-list client roster also includes Olivia Wilde and Molly Gordon. WWD has reached out to Thompson and Fisher to confirm their hands in Duff’s AMAs beauty aesthetic.
