Olivia Rodrigo was spotted filming a new music video on Tuesday in New York City and her boots were the heart of her outfit. The singer was surrounded by ballerinas who were all clad in dainty baby pink tutus and ballet shoes. Their lightness served as a contrast to Rodrigo’s dark and lived-in look.
The singer walked around as the ballerinas danced around her wearing an oversized navy blue hoodie that was layered Attega’s “Rue” skirt in white cotton. “The Cure” singer wore the laid-back look with a pair of knee-high leather boots, which she paired with tall leg warmers underneath. The top of the black socks peeked through the boot collar.
The impressive leather shoes stood out thanks to the many buckles that run along the side of the boot. The shaft is decorated by six thick belts that go over the leg and are held in place with mid-size silver, square-shaped buckles. One more strap wraps over the ankle, which features a slightly bigger buckle that sits at the side of the foot, totaling seven straps overall.

The punk-inspired footwear is made from a glossy, lustrous black leather and feature a rounded toe and feature a slim lug sole. The brand who makes Rodrigo’s boots has yet to be identified although other brands feature similar styles. Miu Miu offers a tall pair of motorcycle boots for $2,650, but it features less buckles. The Demonia Trashville-518 boots also feature buckled straps but unlike the “Deja Vu” singer’s pair, they stand tall on a three-inch platform.
They boot style coincides with Rodrigo’s ’90s grunge-inspired style, which she often blends with coquette, hyper-feminine style that involve bows, mary janes, lace, and vintage pieces. She recently caught some flak for wearing a babydoll top, after some critics determined the silhouette is infantilizing and not a trend for young women to follow.
In terms of footwear, Rodrigo is rather consistent. She is often spotted in leather boots, from brands like Dolce & Gabbana and Frye, and her go-to for when she performs on stage at the Dr Martens Audrick 20-Eye leather knee high platform boots, which give her a significant boost in height.
The Grammy winner is already filming her next video after releasing “The Cure,” the second single from her third album, which is titled, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.” The album‘s lead single is her song titled “Drop Dead.”
