ROUND TWO: Marina Rinaldi and Teresa Maccapani Missoni are back at it.
The Max Mara Group’s brand and designer — who’s one of the daughters of Angela Missoni and granddaughter of the brand’s founders Ottavio and Rosita — are releasing a new see now, buy now capsule collection on Friday, marking the second chapter of their collaboration.
As reported, last year the brand tapped Maccapani Missoni to develop a focused apparel and accessories range that drew inspiration from her passion for the antique markets she used to visit with the Missoni matriarchs when she was a child.

This second line follows in those footsteps, building on the sense of nonchalance and spontaneity Maccapani Missoni imbued in her first effort.
This time inspired by water and its movement, Maccapani Missoni reinforced her penchant for flowy caftans and fluid tunics, as well as an easy-to-approach spirit channeled via blouses cut in asymmetrical proportions and wide and loose pants. Cotton gauze, jersey and silk were joined by linen with a denim-like look, knits and poplin to balance the lightweight collection with more structured pieces.
In sync with her inspiration, Maccapani Missoni also played with blurred and watercolor effects, patterns evoking seaweed and deep-sea plants, as well as fish- or pearl-shaped details popping along the necklines, for example. In the same vein, she added coral, turquoise and bright pink hues to her color palette of white, navy and black classics.
The underwater world informed also her approach to accessories, which ranged from mesh handbags studded with transparent beads mimicking drops of water to statement necklaces, bracelets and belts evoking octopus tentacles and small anchovies.
Priced between 120 euros for T-shirts and 599 euros for long chemisiers, the collection is available at Marina Rinaldi stores and e-commerce, as well as a selection of multibrand retailers.
Marina Rinaldi has promoted body positivity by creating size-inclusive fashion since the ’80s and has a tradition of amplifying this message through collaborations with designers. Previously, it has worked with the likes of Mary Katrantzou, Sara Battaglia, Marco de Vincenzo, Tsumori Chisato, Stella Jean, Fausto Puglisi, Roksanda Ilincic, Antonio Berardi and Lebanese designers Zuhair Murad and Dima Ayad, to name a few.
As with Maccapani Missoni, the brand partnered with some of them for multiple installments, including Berardi and Battaglia. In particular, it was with the third iteration with Battaglia, launched in 2024, that the label embraced the see now, buy now format, as reported.
